Restart a Heart Day
On Wednesday 16 October all our Year 7 students took part in ‘Restart a Heart’ day. We are very grateful to parent Theresa Etheridge-Clark, who is a Critical Care Nurse at St James's Hospital, as she organised the event as a volunteer for the BHF. Other volunteers helping were from Yorkshire Ambulance, the Police and Nursing. Across the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital every year, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10. It is reassuring to know that our Y7’s have all learnt what to do if you find someone unconscious and not breathing.
